WOMEN’S DAY – 60th Annual Committee (2013)
Vision Statement:
“Every wise woman buildeth her house; but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands” Proverbs, 14:1
Ministerial Activities:
Women’s Day is an annual day celebrated at Brown Memorial Baptist Church where we take pause to celebrate the work and accomplishments of women in ministry and community. We also host a Women’s Week of events that consist of worship services and other activities that aim to build women, girls and community. The concept of Women’s Day was introduced at the National Baptist Convention by Nannie Helen Burroughs in 1906 as a way to “raise up women” and to support foreign missions. This time honored tradition is celebrated in churches nationwide.
